Following Bayern's German Super Cup triumph over Stuttgart on Saturday, England captain Kane believes the Bundesliga giants are one of the favourites to win Europe's top competition in 2026. He also put holders Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool, and Barcelona, among others, right up there, but last season's semi-finalists, Arsenal, were omitted.

He told : "I think this Champions League is going to be similar to every year. We will be one of the favorites, PSG, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Man City, Liverpool… All the big teams will have their eyes on the trophy. There's still a long way from now until that final. We're looking forward to the draw at the end of the month to see who we'll play in the league phase. Step by step, we're trying to move in the right direction. We're more focused on the Bundesliga now. We have a big game at the Allianz Arena to start the season on Friday night. We need to show what we showed [against Stuttgart] – the attitude and desire to go out there and be hungry to try to put ourselves in a good place in the league."
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Fresh after winning his second trophy in a matter of months, a confident Kane believes the German outfit can make waves in the Champions League this season. And the former Tottenham star appears to think they have a better chance of winning that trophy than Mikel Arteta's men.

As Kane alluded to, Bayern and their rivals will learn which teams they will be playing against in the league phase of the Champions League on August 28, when the draw takes place at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco. The Bavarians reached the quarter-finals last season but they will hope to have a deeper run this time out.
