Ronaldo, who achieved the milestone of scoring 900 career goals last week, has opened up about his successful career and revealed what still motivates him to keep scoring at the age of 39. Ronaldo had a disappointing outing in the Euros where he went five straight games without scoring as Portugal exited the competition from the quarter-final stage. However, he came back strong in the September international break by scoring against Croatia and Scotland respectively.

Speaking on his YouTube channel during a chat with former colleague Rio Ferdinand, the 39-year-old said, "Last night I was having dinner with my family and my mum and we spoke about some situations that happened in the Euros. It's the enthusiasm that I still have for the game. I'm [an] addict for football, I'm addicted to scoring goals, and to play at a good level even at my age because I love it."
