When Mbappe's contract at Paris Saint-Germain expires and he becomes a free agent at the conclusion of this season, it is widely believed that he has decided to join Los Blancos. The player's departure to the Spanish capital seems likely, even if PSG wants to keep him and sign him to a new contract. Rodrygo has now endorsed the idea of Mbappe making the move to Madrid.

Speaking to the media after his side's 4-0 win over Girona, Rodrygo said: "I would love Mbappe to come. I always want to play with the best players and he's one of the best in the world. I can't talk much about him. He's a PSG player and I have to respect him."

Since he first made an impression at Monaco as a youngster, Mbappe has been mentioned as a potential Madrid player. Despite Madrid's attempts to compete for his signature in 2017, he ultimately signed with the Parisians for a reported fee of £163 million ($205.9m). Since then, Mbappe has flourished, leading PSG to numerous league titles and France to the World Cup crown in 2018 and another final in 2022. However, the Champions League title has evaded the Frenchman so far and he will hope a move to Real Madrid can spark a change in continental fortune.
