The 20-year-old has featured heavily for the Italian giants since joining from Valencia in the summer, making 14 appearances across all competitions and starting nine of Milan's last ten outings. Being under 23, Musah would be eligible for the world sporting event in Paris next year, and has thrown his hat in the ring for a potential call up.

The Milan midfielder told the media on Monday: "It would be amazing to participate in such a nice event as the Olympics, something I’ve watched every year since I was old enough to watch it. I’d love to participate in the Olympics, but it’s up to the coaching staff.”

THE BIGGER PICTURE

As Musah alludes to, his desire to play in the Olympics may not actually be enough to secure him a spot. The tournament will take place from July 24 and August 9 of next year, which takes up most of Milan's pre-season ahead of the 2024-25 campaign. The Serie A side could refuse to let the midfielder play in a non-FIFA tournament straight off the back of a congested club season, and will therefore have the final say on his involvement.

DID YOU KNOW?

If Musah features in the USMNT's next two matches against Trinidad and Tobago, he will break the record for most caps before turning 21 (31 caps).
