U.S. men's national team forward Josh Sargent scored the game-winning goal for Norwich City on Saturday as they defeated Portsmouth 2-1 in English Championship action. It was Sargent's third goal of the season, and his second in the Championship, as his hot start to the 2025-26 season continued as the earned all three points.
He timed his run to perfection, crashing home at the far post with a close-range header off a long throw-in.

Sargent has been linked with a transfer away from Leeds United all summer long, but no deal has come to fruition. In July, the reportedly reached an agreement with Wolfsburg, but the American forward rejected the transfer, opting not to return to the German Bundesliga.
Recently, promoted Premier League sides Leeds United and Burnley have been monitoring him, but no move has been made.
Sargent is searching for a big move this summer to push him into the USMNT World Cup squad next summer. He was held out of the Gold Cup this summer due to "football reasons" per manager Mauricio Pochettino.
