Former Newcastle boss Steve Bruce has been the subject of a cheeky dig from Andy Carroll and Fabian Schar.

After Newcastle's routine 3-0 win over Leicester, Schar posted on Instagram, praising his team-mates for a "professional" performance. Schar also laid on an assist in the game, setting up Jacob Murphy.

Bruce, of course, was Newcastle manager between 2019 and 2021, overseeing Premier League finishes of 13th and 12th. He was the last permanent manager before the club's takeover, and was replaced by Eddie Howe.
WHAT CARROLL AND SCHAR SAID
Schar wrote: "Professional performance from the boys! On a plate for you @JacobMurphy95."
Ex-Newcastle striker Carroll replied: "And Brucey benched you" along with a 'can't-look' emoji.
Schar replied with a sealed lips emoji; under Bruce, he made 33 league starts across the two seasons.
